2023 Leaf Electric Vehicle What's New

For 2023, the Nissan Leaf has had a few minor changes from the previous 2022 model. The exterior design has changed slightly but not by much. The grille, headlights, and bumper have been changed with various body elements reshaped for improved aerodynamics. Other design changes include the new multispoke wheels and an illuminated Nissan badge. The only other noticeable difference is the lineup of five models that the Leaf had for 2022 has been reduced to only two: the S and the SV Plus, but we'll get more into that later.

The 2023 Nissan Leaf has had a bit of a facelift. However, many of the desirable features found on the outside and inside of the 2022 Leaf are still available for occupants to enjoy. The LEAF's heated outside mirrors will come in handy during cold Ontario winters. You can choose to have LED turn signals integrated into the mirrors as well. Additional features of the exterior include fog lights, bright LED headlights, and LED signature daytime running lights. A new grille, front bumper, and exterior lighting features have been added to Nissan's electric car for 2023. The Leaf's aesthetic improvements are completed by a pair of stylish multi-spoke wheels and an illuminated Nissan emblem. Because it's a compact hatchback, it's easy to manoeuvre through heavy city traffic and find street parking. This Nissan has 17-inch alloy wheels and looks sporty with its rear spoiler and rear diffuser. It also has splash guards and an aerodynamic underbody cover.

The interior design is spacious and comfortable with room for up to five people, with many desirable features, including flexible cargo space and intuitive technology. Enjoy 668 litres of rear cargo space with a cargo cover to keep your belongings hidden. If you fold down both sections of the 60/40-split rear seat, you'll have a total of 850 litres of cargo room to store your large or oversized items. Take advantage of comfort and convenience features such as automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, Nissan Intelligent Key with push-button start, cruise control with steering-wheel-mounted controls, a universal garage door opener, heated front and rear seats, a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, and high beam assist. Connectivity comes in the form of an 8-inch colour touchscreen display with NissanConnect, navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM, Bluetooth, and more. Leather seats are available as well.

2023 Leaf Technology

When driving the Nissan LEAF, you'll be connected to your network thanks to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, as well as door-to-door navigation. You can use voice commands or the eight-inch customizable touchscreen to make calls, use certain apps, or find music. Another display is located directly in front of the driver's seat. It's also customizable and can show you information such as your remaining fuel range, speed, navigation, and outside temperature. Keep your devices charged using the two front and two rear USB ports. Sirius XM and Bluetooth are other standard components. The first two trims have six-speaker sound systems, and the highest trim has a Bose audio system with seven total speakers.

2023 Leaf Performance

The base model of the 2023 Nissan Leaf is powered by a 110 kW AC synchronous electric motor paired with a 40-kWh battery pack that produces 147 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. The SV Plus and SL Plus have both been enhanced with 150-kW motors and 60-kWh batteries. As a result, they each have a range of 342 kilometres versus the standard 240 kilometres. The smaller system offers 147 horsepower, and the larger one will give you 214 horsepower.

Both vehicles offer excellent handling with their lower centre of gravity due to the floor-mounted battery pack. Enjoy smooth handling for easier cornering and maneuvering with minimal body roll. Another exciting and enjoyable feature of the Nissan Leaf is the e-Pedal, a single pedal that instantly delivers power whenever you need it. Use one smooth, direct motion for both speeding up and slowing down.  Just ease your foot off the pedal to slow down the vehicle to a stop. 2023 Leaf Trims

The 2023 Nissan Leaf comes in two trims: the base S and the mid-grade SV Plus. The S trim comes with the standard features mentioned earlier, including the 110 kW AC synchronous electric motor paired with the 40-kWh battery. This option provides you with up to 240 kilometres of full-electric range. Opting for the SV Plus with the larger battery will up that range to up to 363 kilometres. This larger battery also supports faster charging with the 100-kW fast charger, which can recharge the battery up to 80% in just 45 minutes.
